Summary
A table-vitrine or "bijouterie" table, French, circa 1890, in the Louis XV style, in oak veneered with kingwood and satiné, the vitrine with a gilt-bronze surround fitted on a table with a serpentine top above a shaped frieze centred by a cartouche flanked to each side by a drawer, the corners with scrolling acanthus mounts above cabriole legs and foliate-cast feet.

Date of acquisition not recorded, listed in the King's bedroom when bequeathed by Margaret McEwan, The Hon. Mrs Ronald Greville (1863-1942) with Polesden Lacey, to the National Trust, in memory of her father, William McEwan (1827-1913).
