Oil painting on canvas, Alexander Stewart (1700–1781), Irish School, 18th century, inscribed, in white: Alexander Stewart and on the back: "This was / given to me / by Guy Stone Esqr. of Comber / Londonderry / 1856. " A half-length portrait of a man, turned to the right, wearing a red-brown coat and white cravat.
Provenance
Given to a member of the Londonderry family by Guy Stone (1808-1862) of Comber, in 1856; thence by descent; accepted by HM Government in lieu of Inheritance Tax and allocated to the National Trust, 2013.
