Portrait miniature, oil on copper, Richard Herbert, later 2nd Baron Herbert of Chirbury (c.1606-1655), attributed to Cornelius Johnson (London 1593 - Utrecht 1661) A bust-length portrait , dark brown hair, beard and moustache, aged about 30. Gilt glazed locket with black enamel reverse.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
