Oil and pen painting on linen paper, View of Chirk Castle, British (English) School, late 18th century. Painted following the re-siting by William Emes in 1770 of the Davies Brothers gate screen and the figures of Hercules and Mars.
Provenance
Amongst chattels previously on loan to the National Trust from the Myddelton family. These chattels were purchased on behalf of the National Trust in the Christie's auction at Chirk on 21st June 2004.
