Summary
Necklace/hair jewellery dated 1860-80 (circa). Fabric of blonde human hair, waxed [?] Brass fittings. Gold [?] clasp. Strands of hair are interlaced in a diamond mesh and formed into two chains of 17 connected bubbles graduated in diameter. A Latin cross is formed from hair bubbles joined at the centre by a square brass connecting piece. The clasp has been broken and crushed. There is moth damage to one bubble. A bubble of the cross has come partly loose from its finial fitting. Several bubbles are crushed.

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
