Summary
Miniature carpet. An embroidered carpet from the dolls' house bedroom. The fabric is ivory silk damask, with twill weave satin reverse stripes while the design is of vertical bands of flower sprays from baskets. It is embroidered in plied silk, dyed green, lime green and pink in satin stem and detached needle weaving. The grey and brown chenille is couched and three strand twisted metal thread on a silk core is also couched. There is a lining of glazed, plain weave buff linen and it is trimmed with a linen edging. The silk is pieced together and hand sewn and glued.
