Summary
A mahogany clothes press, or press cupboard, English, early 19th century. With a later top and possibly adapted. The later top with moulded edge, and above a pair of panelled doors enclosing three oak and softwood trays, with red wash. Above two cockbeaded drawers, the fronts of mahogany veneered onto softwood, and with brass locks, thread escutcheons and knob handles. The drawer bases and sides of oak, the rear board of softwood covered in a red wash. With a shaped tablet-centred apron and outswept bracket feet. The back of softwood with a red wash.

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
