Summary
Celestial globe. One of a pair of mid-Georgian, terrestrial and celestial globes, by W. and T.M. Bardin and with a dedicatory inscription to Nevil Maskelyne, Astronomer Royal (1732-1811): 'Nevil Maskelyne, D.D. Frs Astronomer Royal 'This New British Celestial Globe' containing the positions of nearly 6000 Stars, Clusters, Nebulae, Planetary Nebulae and correctly laid down to the present period from the latest observations and discoveries by Dr Maskelyne, Dr Herschell, The Rev Fr. Wollaston ..... Respectfully dedicated by his most obedient hble servants W. and T.M Bardin ....' etc.
