Summary
An engraved brass coffin plate, with screwholes in each corner of which the bottom two are broken. Inscription to Katherine Murray. In the top left corner, an engraved coat of arms. Held in a red cloth covered box with hinged lid and hook, and inscription card on top.
Marks and inscriptions
"Here lyeth enterrd the body of the honourably descended Katherine Murray late wife of William Murray Esq. Groome of the Bedhcamber to the late King Charles The First who by her said husband had five daughters viz Elizabeth the eldest married to Sir S R Lionel Tollemache Knight and Baronet. Katherine the Second, Anne the third, Mary the fourth formerly deceased and burried in this place, and Margaret the fifth daughter now living in the yeare of our Lord God 1649. The said Katherine departed this mortall life at her house at Ham in the county of Surrey the second day of August the yeare above mentioned whose funerall was celebrated fiting solemnitie acording to her degree"
