Summary
One of two playbills for performance of 'A WINTER'S TALE' at the Princess's Theatre, Oxford Street, London. This one dated 28th April 1856. Ellen Terry, in her first stage performance, played Mamillius; her father also appeared, as did her sister Kate Terry. Duplicate playbill is NT/SMA/EP/26a.
Provenance
Purchased by Sir Donald Sinden from the Neilson-Terry sale at Primrose Hill in 1957. Presented to Smallhythe Place in 2000.
