Formal photograph of twenty nine young men of the Eton Society standing and sitting on the steps up to a large doorway with a crenallated building visible on the far left. A large lamp is also on the left. All wear white tie, many with button holes. The Hon. Victor Agar-Robartes, later 8th Viscount Clifden, 1887-1974, stands on the right in the back row. Contained in a rectangular dark red leather album with gold shield on front and gold letters 'A.V.A-R./1896-1902'. The names of the young men are listed on the inventory card starting from top left; H.S.E. Bury, C. Clifton Brown, G.M.E. Lucas, C.L. Boxall, Hon. A.V. Agar-Robartes, N.E. Barber, P.P.Gregory, R.C.N. This album belonged to the Hon. Victor Agar-Robartes, 8th Viscount Clifden, younger brother of the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953.
