Summary description

Oil painting on copper, A Stag Hunt, attributed to Jan van Kessel II (Antwerp 1626 – Antwerp 1679), circa 1663. Two stags brought to bay by hounds near a stream beside a wood. Two huntsmen approach through the wood. A chateau on a plain in the middle distance.


Accepted by the Treasury in part payment of death-duties from the executors of Edmund Robert Parker, 4th Earl of Morley (1877-1951) and transferred to the Trust in 1982
