Oil painting on canvas, Alexander Courthope of Sprivers (1697 - 1779) by Thomas Hudson (Devonshire 1701 – Twickenham 1779), signed and dated, in background to right: T. Hudson, 17[ ] 8 [probably 1758]. A three-quarter-length portrait, seated, to right, with right arm on two books on a table, on the left, with blue velvet tablecloth.
