Pablo Serrano (Crivillén, Teruel Province -1910- Madrid 1985)
Sir George took a particular interest in Spanish art during his time in Madrid, and knew many of the artists whose work he collected personally. Serrano told Sir George that this piece was intended to give the impression of a forest offering protection to fugitive man or beast.
