Osterley Park and House, London (Accredited Museum)
Ceiling, walls and structural timber elements in the Servants' Staircase and Lobby. This area includes the enclosed spiral staircase from the west ground floor corridor to the lobby between the Eating Room, North Corridor cupboard and Entrance Hall on the Principal Floor. The staircase and wooden balustrade have been catalogued as CMS 774118, the floor and other timber elements (counter, sink unit, architraves etc) have also been catalogued separately. This record is for the ceiling and plastered and painted walls to the staircase and lobby. The walls are in places curved and include chimneybreasts of the principal rooms. There is a recess in the north wall of the lobby (by the doorcase to the Eating Room) containing a small, rectangular, metal hatch. There are a large number of pipes and conduits going through and attached to the walls. There are a number of beams that may be of historic importance to the development of the house. Above the North Corridor cupboard there is a modern boarded area - this is also included in this record.
