A school slate with a wooden frame. The corners are reinforced with metal but one is missing and another broken. One side of the slate is etched with horizontal lines. A leather thong is threaded through two holes in the frame. 'H C' is carved into the frame and the slate.
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mrs Douglas in May 1980.
