A three-dimensional jigsaw puzzle made of wood, with all the details of each layer/deck printed on. Bought at the Clyde Model Dockyard in Glasgow in the 1930s.
Summary
A 'Bildajig' 3-D wooden jigsaw puzzle of an ocean liner (circa 1930). The base is one flat piece of wood, on which stand two masts and three cream funnels. Three full size decks are built up of jigsaw pieces, and above these are raised sections of one layer at the bow, and a further section of two layers from bridge to stern, with two further layers above and two small layers forming the bridge. Eighteen metal ventilators also fit into holes right down to the base. Total number of items is 300.
