This doll has a hard head with brown fabric stretched over it. There are moulded features and the fabric is stitched down in places to simulate the features of a smiling old woman with a lined face and a big nose. She has a white wool wig with the hair drawn into a bun on the crown of the head. She has a stuffed fabric body, stuffed fabric arms that feel reinforced and are bent across the body with hands holding knitting needles, and fabric stuffed legs that are fixed for sitting on a chair. She is wearing a black felt dress with a cream felt upright collar and a green band just above the hem. In her hands she is holding knitting needles and is knitting something red and white from a ball of red wool at the hem of the dress. Over the dress she has a dirty pink and white check apron which has felt cross over straps at the back. She has red and white horizontally striped long stockings and black slippers with brown soles. A label tied round the neck of the doll reads 'hand made Old Woman knitting from Fussen, Bavaria 1965'.
