A Belgian lace maker costume doll seated on a wooden stand. This small plastic doll with jointed arms and legs is wearing a long red velvet dress, the bodice, sleeves and hem edged with cream lace, and a cream lace waist apron. On her head is a cream lace bonnet over grey hair. On her moulded face is a pair of wire spectacles. On her lap is a square wooden board covered in green baize on which are three wooden lace bobbins working on a long strip of cream lace. She is seated on a simple wooden chair with a wide high back and base board. On this board, protruding from beneath her dress are fixed wooden clogs.
