Look closely at her dress and you can see the beautiful embroidery on it.
A wooden headed doll with moulded and painted features. She has brown hair, mounted on a mesh base, which is drawn back into a bun. Her neck rotates on her wooden body. She has wooden arms that are jointed at the shoulders and nicely carved hands. She has wooden legs with carved sandals on her feet. The legs are jointed at the knees and the hips. She is held up by a black metal stand that seems to be attached to an extra piece of wood at the back of the torso. On the back of her head she is wearing a piece of net and a headdress. Her dress has a close fitting bodice and a full skirt. The bodice is of satin type fabric with an embroidered panel of coarse fabric at the front. The sleeves, also of satin, have bands of metallic braid and lace frills at the wrist. The skirt of the dress is of coarse material which is heavily embroidered and has a piece of ribbon sewn round the hem. Beneath the skirt is a coarse underskirt made of tweed. The black metal stand sits on some yellow fabric which covers the inside of the base. The base is painted gold on the outside and over the top fits a glass dome. The dome is not on display The total number of items is 3.
