Summary
A tinplate clockwork model of a laundress. The laundress with tinplate head and body and hands has thin metal rods for arms and legs. She wears a painted white bonnet with red bow and ribbon and has painted facial features. She is wearing a long cotton dress in dark blue, patterned in white with a red and white checked shawl. She has a cream linen waist apron and black painted shoes. Attached to her hands is a piece of cream linen. She stands on a green painted tinplate base. On this is a round bowl on three tall legs, all painted brown. She leans over the bowl, as if wringing out the cloth. The clockwork key protrudes from her waist and on her back is a large metal clip.
