A cream satin, child's waistcoat with beige linen lining (1820s). It is laced up all down the body with a beige ribbon with metal ends. The front and turn-down collar are embroidered with sequins and a pattern of coloured flowers and foliage. There are five satin-covered buttons down the front, the bottom one of which is missing.
Donated to the National Trust in 1973 by Mr Gladwyn Turbutt. A collection of mid 19th to early 20th century children's and babies' garments (also three black and white photographic studio prints of children from the family). All these items came from the donor's family home.
