Oil painting on metal, A Cottage in Winter, with a Man gathering Wood by British (English) School, 19th C. Snowy winter landscape with a thatched cottage in the centre, smoke coming out of the chimney, a background of snow-laden trees, in the foreground a fallen tree, and a path leading to the right and to the cottage, a man dressed in a red jacket and a dark hat is walking towards the cottage with a bundle of sticks on his back. Dark cloudy sky.

Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
