Summary description

Oil painting on panel, A Coastal Scene, British School, mid-19th century. A coastal view, with two boys in the foreground leaning on a bank. One stands against the bank, wearing green trousers. His companion wears red and has tucked his knees up underneath him. Ships can be seen in the distance out at sea.

Provenance

Purchased by the Ministry of Works through the National Land Fund and transferred to the National Trust for Dyrham Park in 1956.
