Summary
Oil painting on panel, The Flagellation, with Saints Catherine and Stephen, by Rebecca Dulcibella Ferrers Orpen, later Mrs Edward Dering (1830 – 1923), 1877. Christ wearing a white loin cloth is bound to a column on a raised platform at the centre. He swoons towards the right. A figure in yellow stands to his right. A red cloak hangs in the background to the left. St. Catherine bottom left, and St. Stephen bottom right.
