Summary description

One of four oval two-handled dishes which form part of an English dessert service gilded with small panels of foliage on a salmon pink ground. The service in the Dining Room includes (b) four large dishes on stands (i, ii, iii, iv), (comports); (d) four oval two-handled dishes. (f) twelve plates (i, ix, xi, xiii. xvi. xvii, xviii, xx, xxi, xxii, xxvii, xxviii). Marked in red '9177', possibly Coalport, mid 19th century.
