Summary description

Oil painting on canvas, The Kitchen at Hill Top by Peter Kuhfeld (b. Cheltenham 1952), signed Kuhfeld, 1987. The scene is of the kitchen with dresser and furniture, a Peter Rabbit doll and the coronation teapot on the table in the centre of the room. The entrance hall of the cottage, which is also a kitchen, where Beatrix Potter lived before her marriage to William Heelis. Views of the room drawn by Beatrix Potter appear in The Tale of Samuel Whiskers, the teapot on the table in The Pie and the Patty Pan.
