This set of three luggage trunks belonged to George and Elsie Bambridge. The Bambridges travelled widely, as the luggage labels still attached to these trunks record. After her husband’s death Elsie travelled to New York in 1947, sailing from Southampton on the prestigious Queen Elizabeth in a first class state room.
Louis Vuitton wood and canvas, brass studded, travel trunk, with blue and yellow centre stripe, one of a set of 3. This trunk fitted with a tray. Has wheels.
Part of the Bambridge Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976 by Mrs Elsie Bambridge (1896-1976)
