Summary description

Oil painting on canvas, The Hon. Margaret Wotton, Lady Tufton (1617–before 1657), after Sir Anthony Van Dyck (Antwerp 1599 - London 1641). A head-and-shoulders portrait of Mary Howard, facing left. The sitter is wearing a green dress trimmed with fur with low-cut bodice, and pearl necklace, drop ear-rings and hair decoration. She has a knowing smile. This is a cut-down version of a three-quarter-length portrait at Blickling (NT).
