[Saved] One of a pair of Tournai Pails with banded flared sides and scroll handles, decorated with small panels of birds after Buffon, the birds named on the base, above centurion heads en grisaille and butterflies, the panels placed vertically between brilliant blue bands gilt with foliage and other motifs.
Bequeathed to the National Trust in 1968 by Mrs Hannah Gubbay. Probably from a service made for Philippe, duke of Orleans (the future Philippe Egalite) in 1787
