Bronze lends itself to outdoor statuary due to its hard wearing qualities. During the making process the metal expands when poured at high heat into the cast picking up the finest of detail. It then cools retracting from the mould which makes it easier to remove. Albert Bruce-Joy made over 150 different statues in marble or bronze. His work is admired for a natural style and ability to focus on the personality of his sitters.
