Summary description

Oil painting on paper, Branscombe Mouth by John White (Edinburgh 1851 - Axminster 1933), signed. An autumnal, heathland landscape with a view towards a yellow strip of beach and a blue band of sea in the distance. The landscape slopes upwards at the right with scrub in the centre middle distance and at the bottom of the slope and three tall trees at the far right. The expanse of sky that is created by the low viewpoint is dotted with clouds infused with pink, amber and lilac tones.
