Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Alfred Grey (1845-1926), the Artist's Son, by Charles Grey (Greenock 1808-1892), inscribed on the back : Portrait of Alfred Grey/ Painted by Charles Grey RHA 1854. A head-and-shoulders portrait of a boy, turned to the left, wearing a beret, and holding a fishing rod in his right hand, which rests on his right shoulder. The artist's son went on to become an artist in his own right, and was made a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy.
