Huqqa pipe and snake - Part of a collection of huqqa snakes and pipes. A huqqa snake (T.11.7a) covered black silk and decorated with a honeycomb pattern formed from gilt foil, gilt thread and black silk thread with bands of gold raised diamond pattern near either end. Ensuite with pipe (T.11.7b) in Clive Store; the bamboo stem covered in black silk and decorated with a central band of honey comb pattern formed from gilt foil, gilt thread and black silk thread, and with band of raised diamond pattern above and below. Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963
