An address from the district of Gaya. It was given to Lord Curzon on the occasion of his visit to Bodh Gaya. The address is printed on silk and has a pink border and backing which is decorated using gold and silver thread with sequins. 'A silver casket, partly gilt, containing an address from the district of Gaya - Bengal' (Christie's entry)
Purchased in 1986 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000). Gifted to the National Trust in 1987 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
